4H Photography Workshop at Thomsen Photography 2010

After a 15 minute delay starting, the "Drawing With Light" Class got underway and picked up some serious steam as we talked about outdoor photography and better yet, went out and DID photo's outside! This year was more of a workshop than a class. We used our point and shoot camera to demonstrate the tecniques used to g...et professional looking images with reflectors and blockers. Amy, Mandy, Cooper, Betsy, Olivia, Mardy, and Naomi all took turns taking pictures, holding reflectors, and shading faces with blockers in order to learn the fundamental elements of out door portraiture. Back in the studio we brought photo's into the computer and worked on them a bit to see what can be done after the capture. We talked about Landscape photography with composition and the rule of thirds, as well as leading lines and points of interest. The young ladies had OUTSTANDING questions that We tried hard to answer. If there are any other questions that come up feel free to ask us on here or on our blog or call us or stop by if you need to! We make our living with photography, but we still like to see other folks images and so if we can help you understand how to make a better image, we sure are here to do that! Thanks to the 4H kids as well as the leaders and parents that allowed this class to take place.
