We are shooting Proms all over the area. Tonight is North Harrison, in our home town Eagleville!
We have a son, Aaron that is a Junior this year so we've been helping get things set up and ready. Working along with other parents and the Junior Class brought me back a few years (OK, maybe a bit more than a few) to the time I was going to prom. Now back in those days my parents were hit very hard with my father having surgery and Radiation treatments for cancer. Needless to say we didn't have much. But I remember Mom taking me shopping for a tux. No matter what she was determined I'd have one. She'd been saving a little money back just for me to have one...Now, at the time I didn't realize the sacrifice that was for her. I mean, literally hundreds of trips 100 miles one way to the North Kansas City Hospital from our farm house North of New Hampton Mo. for Dads treatments. Health insurance only goes so far (even back then). Thinking back to those days I remember how my Mother kept pushing on through what must have been an extremely hard time in her and Dad's lives. At the time, I was 16 and I didn't know the depths of their despair. I went to Prom, I had a fun time, I went to after prom and had a good time. I came home to a bright smile on my Mom's face and a " Well, did you have fun?"
I did have fun Mom, and I owe that to you. Thanks!
My mother actually passed away in September of 2006 after a long illness. But during her stronger years, she really went all out for me. I hope you Juniors and Seniors enjoying your Prom this year, take a moment and realize the love and care put into it by your parents. They really do love you, even if they drive you up the wall sometimes! You can probably admit that sometimes you might drive them up the wall too huh? Well, that's just the nature of things. So Parents, relax and let them go have fun, and Jr's and Sr's. For the evening of Prom, let the stress go, forgive the mistakes we all make, dress to the nines and have a GREAT evening!
We'll take the pictures!
Proms are Fab i do Makeup for prom and is such a lovely time for them it must be nice to take there photos and see how happy they are.
