The New Year is Here!

Here we are on the first day of 2011. In North West Missouri we are having a blustery breezy chilly day with a mostly sunny sky here in the afternoon. This is a day each year that most of us reflect on the past and anticipate the future. Time is one of the stranger things that exists in the universe. The future is un-discernable, the present, or, NOW, doesn't really exist, because by the time you say the word now or even think it... it's already past... This is a good thing though, it allows us to experience the "now" , study the past, and dream of the future! Oh the human experience, what a glorious gift! As Portrait Photographers, Autumn and I have made it our career to capture the instances of importance as photographs to forever freeze that ever illusive "Now" to bring us back to those days of our lives that have passed into history, enhancing the memory the way only a photograph can. Behind all the technical jargon and behind all the lighting theories, posing rituals, composition rules and exposure principals, lies the heart of photography. At the heart of photography is Love. The love of the human experience, the love of our family, the love of  friends and of acquaintances.
As we move into the year twenty eleven, we here at Thomsen Photography look forward to serving you not just with our lights, camera, and action... But more importantly, with love.
