Ok, so I'm starting to see some people showing up for this blog.Awesome.
We are going to start the "Getting better Photo's" thing pretty simple.
first I'd like to know what kind of camera everyone is using???
I will check the comments so just let me know what your using and we can start there.
I want to say though, you CAN and probably have already gotten awesome photo's from a point and shoot camera. Obviously it would be silly to say that you can get just as good pictures with a $250 point and shoot camera as you could with a Canon EOS 1MarkIII $8000.00 Camera with a $2500.00 L lens on it. BUT then again you probably don't need a print the size of a barn either. The point I'm getting at is of course a professional DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex)Camera used correctly is a powerfull tool. We use them, and here is why. We do it for a living and so we have very little room for error. The thing is, some of my favorite photo's were taken with a kodak easy share point and shoot.
I want to clear up a couple of what I call "Digital Rumors".
1)You don't have to know anything about photography with a digital camera.
2)Nowadays to get a good photograph, you just keep taking shots until you finaly get a good one.
Let's talk about 1 for a moment.
A: Digital Camera's don't make better Photographs than Film Cameras
They actually do the exact same thing as film camera's except there is a
digital "sensor" there to receive the light instead of a frame of film.
B: Photographs aren't so much about the camera as they are about LIGHT and SHADOW
Yep, Light is the key to ALL photographs. You may already be aware that the word Photograph means "DRAWING or PAINTING with LIGHT".
Anybody doing the serious yawn yet?
Don't worry, this isn't going to be a brain surgeons guide to photography
this is going to be strait up and your input is very much wanted. so leave comments and questions and we will continue soon down the path to awesome photo's!
if your not already "following" this blog, please look in the upper right hand corner of the page and click the follow button...as the numbers grow we will get on with the journey!
