Missouri State Track Championships

Friday morning the sun rose and the humid air already made you feel like it was going to be a hot one.
Dwight T. Reed Stadium in Jefferson City Mo. Started to fill and competitors were down on the track warming up to begin a very exciting weekend of Track and Field events.
Older than the stadium in Columbia but a wonderful place with a rich history.
Northwest Missouri sent several competitors this year. We had the privilege this year of attending for Fridays events and photographically covered North Harrison. Hoping to cover the young man from Ridgeway but of course His event coincided with The Girls Class 1 High Jump was going on at the exact same time and since North Harrison was our main mission I covered that. I did get one shot of the Ridgeway competitor's Long Jump. Not a very good one though, so I sure hope someone else was able to get shot's of him.

Chandelar and Rachel were NHHS competitors this year.

Rachel was able to get 10th in the high jump and it was very awesome for her to make it to state in her freshman year. Rachel found the competition to be a little more intense than at local meets but carried herself with grace and we are SO very proud of North Harrison #395
Congratulations Rachel for making it to state!!!
What will you do as a sophomore? Can't wait to see.

Chandelar was seated in four (4) events this year and placed at least top 4 in each event!
here are her finals.

400m dash- 4th place
100m dash- 4th place
triple jump- 3rd place
200m dash- 2nd place

We are so very proud of Chandelar! Sometimes as we hear the numbers roll in we forget just how much work each event is. To compete at the state level in four events and place so high in each of them is a BIG thing!
Congratulations Chandelar! you are such an athlete!
Can't wait to see what you do as a Junior!!!
